The settings for the catalog apply until you change them again, even after a renewed start of the catalog.
Note the Reset user settings option. Your catalog settings will be updated by the catalog creator's settings.

Activated:
The drawings are shown in an overview (thumbnails).
A click displays the drawings individually, see below
Deactivated:
Each drawing is shown individually in the drawing window. You can scroll between the drawings.
Only show parts of the current drawing
Activated:
The parts list only contains the articles that are linked to the drawing.
Deactivated:
The parts list contains all articles, even those not linked to the drawing.
